The BD1 elements:
Diamonds
Rockford (that is you) have to collect a given amount of diamonds in order to open the exit. Diamonds may fall down. Rockford have to dig through the dirt in order to reach all the diamonds and the exit. In some caves they may be more then required amount of diamonds. The extra diamonds can have a different value. Each 500 points, you will be revarded with an extra life. You can get up to 9 lifes. Also take a look at the time, if it runs out, you can't move any further.

Boulders
Boulders can fall down as well. Boulders can be pushed. When pushing to the right, sometimes Rockford manages to push a Boulder over a gap.

Fireflies
Fireflies can hurt Rockford, so be carefull when you have to free them. They walk around the ground in a predictable way. If they loose ground, they will walk around themself, ie. they spin.
You can use them to blast away a wall, boulders etc, which are blocking your way.
Also watch out for your exit. If you blast it away, you won't be able to leave the cave.

Butterflies
Like fireflies, they can hurt Rockford and walk in a predictable way, but the other way around. When blasted, they will turn into 9 diamonds.

Amoeba
It is activated at the first possibility of growing. Not only it can grow to empty space, but also through dirt.
If the amoeba is enclosed, it will convert into diamonds. Otherwise, it will turn into boulders as soon as it reaches 200 amoebas. Fireflies and Butterflies explode when touching the amoeba. If the Amoeba is active for a certain amount of time, it switches to its faster growing speed.
Also notice that enemies won't hurt you when walking upwards on its left column.

Magic Wall
The magic wall (aka. Enchanted Wall) can convert Diamonds into Boulders and Boulder into Diamonds. This only works during the active time and you have to make space under the magic wall. In some caves, the magic wall can force the amoeba to convert into diamonds. You have to hurry, or the wall stops milling too early.

Walls
There are different types of walls. On some elements boulders and diamonds can lay on the edge, on others they will slide off and fall down. Diamonds, boulders and the general brickwalls are not able to hold other diamonds and boulders on the edge. The Titanium Wall (aka. Steel Wall) is indestructable. You have to watch about titanium walls when blasting butterflies or you might end up with less then 9 diamonds.

Intermissions
Intermissions are small caves which don't scoll, the visible part is the topleft most 20 x 11,5 tiles of the cave. If you solve it, you will be revarded with an extra life. Again, you may have up to 9 lifes. If you fail, you won't loose a life here, but the game advances to the next cave anyway. In BD1, BD2 and PLCK you always got an extra life, no matter if it was solved.

Team work
In some caves, you will have to steer more than one Rockford. Though the team is tricky to direct, as they all walk synchronously. You may have to sacrifice one Rockford in order to open a blocked passage for another.

snapping
Sometimes you have to snap around. You can eat dirt, pickup diamonds and move boulders without moving yourself. Just hold the fire button pressed during the move!

The BD2 elements:
Slime
Diamonds and boulders will fall through it in a predictable pattern in a give rate. You have to make space under it, in order to let them fall through.

Growing wall
The growing wall (aka. expanding wall) just will grow when ever there is free space on its sides.
In this cave, there are two diamonds, and yes, it is possible to get the upper one without beeing get trapped.

The PLCK elements:
Hidden Exit
Like the regular one, except it doesn't start flashing.

Voodoo
You have to protect Mrs. Rockford (aka. Voodoo Rockford aka. Dolls aka. Dummies) from fireflies and butterflies, because if it is touched by one, you will die with it.

Diego Effects
Lord Diego added the special effects to the PLCK.
The rules may be changed in some caves. The maximum amoeba size can be different than 200. A falling diamond may convert into something different. And bouncing boulder may convert into something different, too. The growing wall and the dirt can look like any other element. The patched construction kit allowed only a little subset of the possibilites the patch actually was capable of doing. With the Crazy Light Tools you can use its full potential, of course.
In this cave, the amoeba only grows to 50 elements, the boulders turn into fireflies, the diamonds turn into explosions, explosions become dirt and the growing wall looks like a titanium wall.

The 1stB Elements (aka. NewB Elements):
open borders
In caves with no boundaries, you can step out the cave and appear at the opposide border. This happens to all moving elements.

suicide
If your Rockfords are too crowded, it might be necessary to kill some of them. The active Rockford can be killed by pressing the left arrow key. Use it carefully, or you will run out of Rockfords.

Mutant Stones
When sleeping, they look exactly like a regular boulder. They become active by falling and then start the chase the active Rockford. They can go through slime. Mutant Stones are quite light wight, hence Rockford can push them vary fast, as long as they are sleeping, that is. They can go through slime without awakening, given there is no space for them to fall further.

Sweet
When picked up a sweet, Rockford becomes very strong and can push Boulders very fast. To the right, he can push them over all the gaps as well. He also becomes able to push active Mutant Stones.
In this cave, you'll find regular boulders at the left part and some mutant stones at the upper right corner.

Mrs. Rockford
In additions to PLCK, Mrs. Rockford can catch diamonds, which will be count for Rockford. You could destroy Mrs. Rockford in PLCK, but here, this will cause a time penalty and a grave will still block your way. Also when hit by a boulder, which couldn't harm her in PLCK, again you'll get a time penalty, and this time, the grave is even enclosed by titanium walls.

Clocks
Collect them and get the extra time.

Bladders
The Bladders can be pushed around in a limited way. They slowly climb up in space. When they touch Mrs. Rockford (default element), they will convert into clocks. There may be Bladder Spenders (aka T), which will make a bladder as soon there is space above it, and convert themself to titanium wall.

indestructible door
Diamonds can be trapped in a indestructible door. The only way to release them is to colled a key.

Bombs
The explosion of those Bombs are special as they can produce things you may need. Rockford can only cary one at a time, which is indicated by white bars under the status line. You cannot blast Mrs. Rockford with these bombs.

Biter
Biters (aka. Dirteater) will eat all the dirt they can reach. They move in a predictable way. They also can eat diamonds (default), so better don't let them taken away. They will move through boulders throuwing them behind if there is no space for turning. That way, you can get rid of boulders blocking your way. Moving priority dirt > diamond > space > boulder.

Switches
There are switches for several things:
Growing wall switches will change the growing wall direction.
Enemieswitches will let the fireflies and butterflies run the other way around. In some caves, the enemy direction may change by a timer as well.
Biterswitches will change the Biter delay between 1-4.

glued objects
Sometimes, diamonds, boulders and even Rockford can be glued. You may blast them. There is no way to collect a glued diamond. A glued Rockford can explode the same ways a walking Rockford can, so be carefull not to waste Diamonds dropping them on a glued Rockford.

More effects
The explosions of firefies and butterflies can be changed. A boulder can be converted to other things than diamonds by a magic wall. Slime can let other things than diamonds and boulders pass through, though this is quite limited due to side effects.
In this cave, diamonds into magic wall turn to fireflies, explosions become diamonds, and the slime lets fireflies and butterflies pass through.

Ghosts (not availabe in CrLi)
The movements are random and not predictable. If touched by Rockford, the Ghost explodes in an X-shape, 5 items which convert to the following items in chances out of 16:
Space (2), Dirt (2), Clock (2), Exit (1), Bomb (2), Rockford (1), Ghost (1), Bladder (1), Diamond (1), Sweet (1), inactive Mutant Stone (1), Biter (1).
Ghosts were only available in 1stB and later replaced with more useful elements. However, I put them into the tutorial for the sake of completeness. That limits the available cavespace, though.

diagonal
The diagonal walking option is offered since the deluxe Kit V2.0 final. (In fact, it was the last feature added.)

The CrLi elements:
Acid
The acid can eat dirt (default). Whenever it spreads, it does so in all four directions at once giving there is dirt to eat, leaving a tiny explosion on its original position. If there is no dirt, the acid just vanishes. The eating is done in a given speed in a random, not predictable pattern.
In this cave, Acid is set up to eat boulders.

Falling walls
Whenever there is a falling wall above Rockford mereley separated by empty space, it starts to fall. It does so at any distance. If it hits Rockford, it explodes. If hit on anything else, it just remains there, until there is another opportunity to fall on Rockford.

Boxes
You can push them around as long there is space behind them. They might be usedful to protect Mrs. Rockford or to build bridges for transporting boulders.

amoeba effects
The Amoeba can convert to anything (enclosed and too big).
In this cave, enclosed and too big amoeba is swapped.
